Hidden Icons is a series of seaters inspired by the side view of famous chairs. It is a known fact that the side view of a chair creates the most iconic image. This project consists in selecting the side view outline of three well-known chairs in order to crop, multiply and assemble these iconic 2D shapes in 3D seatable volumes.
Since the most renowned designs are financially unaffordable, the concept underlines the importance of DIY strategy which gives us the opportunity to symbolically ‘posses’ a hidden icon.
